I need a thesis. I don't understand what a thesis is any help would be great. Explain the policies of Lenin and how Stalin differ with these policies by illustrating how Stalin's policies took the control from the people and strengthened the communist party

A thesis is a statement that basically sums up the argument of your entire paper. It can also be in the form of a question. Do you know what you want to say yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really... No idea how to even set this essay up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

History isn't really a strong point for me...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) well have you read any material that will help you write the paper. I'm assuming this is a research paper.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did read the assigned pages for the paper

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I found the information confuseing really I thought Lenin and Stalin wanted the same things

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I must firstly inform you that only one of those names is familiar to me. Secondly, I can only suggest that you reread those pages and look specifically for answers to the questions you were given. You will need to read those pages several times. With that said, your thesis had actually already been given to you. You can find it in the assignment. You were instructed to explain something. Respond to that with one informative and structured sentence and you have your thesis. Let me know what you come up with and I'll see if I can help you further.

I was not given a thesis we where told to create one and I was told mine was all wrong last time... "But the French Reloution didn't just happen over night, so what led up to it?" was what I attempted to us elast time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:) That was wrong. What I mean is that you can form a thesis from the paragraph you posted earlier. You can say exactly how Stalin's policies differed from those of Lenin or exactly how he went about taking control from the people and strengthening the communist party.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Jeeze thesis makes so little sence to me =/ So should I jsut say Lenin suported comunisium and stalin used it to take control of the people

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. That's not what a thesis is. Remember it should give readers a hint as to what the paper is going to be about and what your stance is.
