You are getting ready to move and have asked some friends to help. For lunch, you guy the following sandwiches at the local deli for $30; six tuna sandwiches and six turkey sandwiches. Later at night, you again buy 4 tuna sandwiches, and 8 turkey ones for $30. 60. What is the price of each sandwich?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

let F be the cost of a tuna sandwich, B be the cost of a turkey sandwich (Fish and Bird, dontcha know) First meal: $30 = 6F + 6B Second meal: $30 = 4F + 8B Solve for F and B. I'm not sure what that 60 in the problem statement is about — is the second meal cost supposed to be $30.60? If so, adjust the cost of the second meal accordingly.

Thank you soo much!!

A bit of thought looking at the two equations should get you the answer without having to actually solve it...
