if you are referring to a what percent problem, then this is how I remember it.

wp = what percent

suppose the problem asks (25 is what percent of 100)

you set it up as follows:

25 = wp(100)
wp = 25/100 = 1/4= .25 = 25%

ALSO

a percent means x/100

in other words if someone says 2% they mean 2/100 = .02
or say 100% = 100/100 = 1
