Can someone help with the steps for this problem? A string of length L, fixed at its ends, is plucked a distance Xp from the end at x=0. It is then released from rest. Formulate the initial conditions and determine the modal amplitudes. I know the general solution of the governing equation, and then I have differentiated that with respect to t. Are the initial conditions x=0 and x=L? Someone, please help!
