Please How Steps Donnie ran a boat against the current that flowed 20 mph for 3 hours. He ran with the current for 1.5 hour. How fast would he be riding on still water?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the current speed is 20 mph and his "own" speed is v. Let the distance be d. Then we know that: (v - 20) * 3 hours = d When he runs with the current. (v + 20 ) * 1.5 = d From here you should be able to solve for v. Do you think you can do that? :)

Yes thank you very much! :)

No problem :)
