Need this NOW >_< What are the values and beliefs of the early American colonists?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They were optimists believing that they could create as fine a society in the new country, free from persecution, as the one they were coming from, even better. They were hard workers, ascetic, determined. They were brave and strong accepting whatever adversity befell them and yet still trying, still fighting, still glad to be alive. and they believed in the Providence of God.

What was the Providence of God?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most of us have experienced disaster — or know someone who has. Conversely, most of us have experienced great blessing as well. While we are grateful for God’s kindness, we can’t help but shake our heads and wonder at the evil in this world — a world our Maker once called “very good. We are even tempted to wonder about the wisdom of God’s plan. The Providence of God is an antidote to such temptations. In this series, R.C. Sproul brilliantly shows the wisdom and power of God’s rule, clarifying how God can guide all events without initiating human wickedness or destroying human freedom. And he explains how your prayers are a crucial part of executing God’s plan. http://www.ligonier.org/learn/series/providence_of_god/

do you mean like how a person today can relate to the Providence of god?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have to read more on it first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kitt, Just write about how modern day people believe in god and how they believe that god makes all of the "goods" good in life and takes all of the evil away. Just write about religion. Well the religion is now like it was then, the colonist just spread it more and made it become what it is today.
