1\[\frac{ 1 }{ 1+x /y}\]

x/y+1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me the work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no wait i got it wrong!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the correct answer is y/x+y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/[1+(x/y)] multiply the 1 in the denominator by y/y 1/[(y/y) + (x/y)] sum the denominator 1/[(x+y)/y)] inverse of the denominator y/(x+y)
