I am not good on visualizing in 3-D without actually getting paper and folding or unfolding. Attached are some sample nets from a Google search. They may give you an idea of how to draw yours. I am not saying that any one of the samples matches your rectangular solid.

It doesnt make sense because I cant draw a net in a text box on the computer

Directrix (directrix):

Are there no options given with the question? I am not sure I understand about drawing on a text box on a computer. If you want to draw on this site, you can click on the blue DRAW button below and sketch the net.

I know how to draw here- cant do that on my site. It is not multiple choice, it is a short answer question

I'll just skip it- 5 points =(

@jim_thompson5910 can you help me understand this?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

think of a cardboard box

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you cut the tape from the joined edges, you'll go from something like this |dw:1360730524022:dw| to something like this |dw:1360730568217:dw| which completely flattens out to this |dw:1360730646422:dw|

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so the 3D box turns into a 2D net that looks like this when you stand completely over it when it's on the floor/table |dw:1360730713703:dw|
