How do I find the magitude of a vector?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

magnitude of a vector is the sqrt( x^2+y^2+z^2)

unless you have 2 points like P(3,1,2 ) and Q(3,1,1) then you have a vector PQ so its the sqrt(3-1)^2+(1-1)^2+(1-2)^2 equals sqrt (5)
