Could someone please help me? Quick cause it's a timed worksheet thingy... 7 2/9 - 5 5/7 Give your answer as a mixed number with fractional part in lowest terms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Convert the fractions into decimals. 2 / 9 = 0.22 5 / 7 = 0.7 7.22 - 5.7 1.52 Convert that into a fraction 1 52/100 Simplify 1 15/23

@TrashMan914 that isn't right I just tried it, and @hero yep that is the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so could you help me with the answer it's timed and it's ticking away lol sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, i would first convert both numbers into improper fractions then determine the GCD of the 2 fractions (GCd being 63) convert both fractions so that they have the GCD, then subtract

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or if you want to do it as a mixed number, first carry the 1 over because 2/9-5/7 would result in a negative number giving you 11/9-5/7 then find GCD convert fractions just subtract the fractions then subtract the whole numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh was it LCM? i get GCD and LCM mixed up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just need the answer I don't exactly have the time to sit here and decide how to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

poor thing...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not a test, it's my homework. but I'm in a online school so it's all timed. But I've gotta go because one of my classes are starting so I'll have to come back

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay dokey here it is see not a test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nevermind i'll just figure it out on my own, i guess no one wants me on here cus someone reported me thats fine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is timed, and it is testing your knowledge on the subject. I would consider that a test as well.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

suitable methods were given, and you simply dont have the time to work thru them with us; so you might want to try a different venue .....
