I need help solving this word problem for my geometry class. The picture is kinda small, but if you click it will be bigger. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=20hadle&s=6

OpenStudy (raden):

the proportion all sides a 30-60-90 triangle is 1 : sqrt(3) : 2 so, given the length of side infront of angle 30 is 3.15, so the length of side infront angle 60 is 3.15 * sqrt(3)

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

You could also use the Pythagorean theorem: \(3.15^2 + x^2 = 6.3^2\). The possible answers are far enough apart that 5.5 is the only one that would fit 10 + x^2 = 39.

\[x=6.3 \text{ Sin}[60{}^{\circ}]=5.45596 \]
