How do I learn Objective-C programming language for iOS?

OpenStudy (rsmith6559):

Have you checked out http://developer.apple.com ? O'Reilly has some books too http://www.ora.com . Never underestimate what a Google search can turn up.

I thought apple only allowed apps coded in php?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

Stanford University have a free online course on this: http://itunes.stanford.edu/

OpenStudy (rsmith6559):

I haven't studied the terms for the app store, but Apple's "native" languages are Objective C and Objective C++. I've glanced at their tutorials for Objective C.

OpenStudy (poopsiedoodle):

I thought it was XCode for apple.

OpenStudy (rsmith6559):

XCode is Apple's IDE. It does have some tutorials, but I'm not sure how much.

OpenStudy (comm.dan):

I've checked out the apple developer website @rsmith6559

You'll need to do some of your own research, as without a very small scoped question, it can be hard to respond. here's a forum site that I've found useful to teach myself the basics of various languages, and they have Object C as well. Happy Coding! http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/forum/140-objective-c/

I have spent a great deal of time looking into this and one of my favorite websites for learning iOS programming is http://www.raywenderlich.com/tutorials They have a fantastic beginners section and some great game tutorials.
