"Find tan 45 degrees to the nearest hundredth" How do I do this?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

What have you tried?

Directrix (directrix):

You can crank it out on your calculator or an online calculator. Do you want to know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Directrix yes!

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Do you know the definition of the tangent of an angle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@skullpatrol not really

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

google is a great basic calculator (just type the math expression and hit enter) http://www.google.com/search?hl=&q=tan%2845+degrees%29&sourceid=navclient-ff&rlz=1B3GGLL_enUS420US420&ie=UTF-8 wolfram alpha is another good one http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=tan%2845+degrees%29

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

make sure you include the "degrees" so it doesn't get confused and accidentally use radians
