Find the missing probability? X 1 2 3 4 P(x) 0.40 0.20 0.15 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 2 3 and 4 are the only events, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct x 1 2 3 4 p(x) 0.40 0.20 0.15 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

need to find 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, see, the thing about probabilities, when you sum up the probabilities of all possible events, the total should be 1... no more, no less :D So far, the probabilities for 1, 2, and 3, respectively are 0.40, 0.20, and 0.15 They add up to 0.75. That give you an idea? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 0.25 wil give me 100? so is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right! Great job :) PS, 0.25 will *technically* give you 1.00, not 100 :)
