An auto tunnel through a mountain is being planned. It will be in the shape of a semicircular cylinder with a radius of 10 m and a length of 2 km. How many cubic meters of dirt will need to be removed? , If the bed of each dump truck has dimensions 2.2. mby 4.8 m by 1.8 m, how mnay loads will be required to carry away the dirt? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no of loads required = volume of the tunnel /volume of a truck dump

OpenStudy (anonymous):

volume of tunnel = (pi)/2 * 100 * 2000 cu.m and volume of a truck dump = 2.2* 4.8 *1.8 cu.m.

I still don't understand how to show the work though. Is there an easier ?
