You can't solve this equation because there are only one equation, while there are two variables.

what to do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What if it was a linear equation?

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

Are we solving for X or Y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for Y

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

Ok, hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (tyteen4a03):

@EvonHowell Please don't give out answers without explanation (even externally available, although technically it required a login). For me I only give them Wolfram|Alpha after I have explained how you would get the solution. @sheaneather If you're trying to find y, Add both sides by 2x and then divide both sides by 5.

OpenStudy (evonhowell):

oops my bad I'm sorry won't happen again...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks~!
