solve -15+6b=-8b+13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-15+6b=-8b+13 6b+8b = 13+15 do it further

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 14b and then what would i do?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

14b is all you got?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no then i did 14b-15=13+14b

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Let us start again with the original equation: $$-15+6b=-8b+13$$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. i got that. part. i put 6b +8b together

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

What grade are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9th

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

This type of solving an equation is called "transforming" an equation, have you heard of that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. but i don;t get math

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

In transforming an equation the main thing to REMEMBER is whatever you do to one side of the equation you must do the same to the other side of the equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Add 8b to BOTH sides and show me what you get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it. it's 2

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

-15+6b=-8b+13 6b+8b = 13+15 14b=28 b=28/14 b=2

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

@shaik0124 Do you really think that is helping?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

@jamie2012 Did shaik0124 answer help?

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

when everything is clear i solved ok and mind ur businness

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ skullpatrol. you dont have to be mean to me. i am not good at math. i have been it S-E all my life , and yes he did help

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

no need to give advise

OpenStudy (shaik0124):
