help with this question how do i find the other side.?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

single equation is x/3= ?/?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you mean by finding the other side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it say this if x+3/3=y+2/2 then x/3= i have to find wat the other fraction equals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. Let me take a look.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

take your time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Multiply by 3 to both equations for your first equation. Then subtract 3 from both these new equations. Then you will have isolated x by itself on the left-hand side. Then divide by 3 on both sides and you will have x/3 on the left-hand side by itself. The right-hand side would be what it would equal to.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry can you put that into an equation not really getting it im sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(x+3)/3 *3 = 3 * (y+2)/2 right? Multiplying both sides by 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x/3 = ((3/2)*(y+2)-3)/3
