Classify the triangle with sides of length 6 inches, 8 inches, and 3 inches

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you notice that it does not have any of the sides the same. right?

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Angle A is greater than 90° and is thus an obtuse angle, so triangle ABC is an obtuse triangle. None of the three sides are the same, so it is also a scalene triangle. So ABC is a scalene obtuse triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

- Isosceles triangle is a triangle with two equal length sides. - Equilateral triangle is a triangle that has equal length on all three sides. - Scalene triangle is a triangle with all no equal side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so @Tinascott which one would it be of the three choices i provided?

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

bascally its a scalene triangle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but you should let the user answer, giving them the answer wont help them at all.

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

i explained it and then told them the answer so they could both understand the question and answer
