Solve and explain please! (: ln(243/900) = ln(e^(-0.0077x))

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

nothing to solve really .... the log cancels out the "e" because they are inverse functions \[-.0077x = \ln (\frac{243}{900})\] then divide by -.0077 to get "x" alone

The log canceling out the e is where I got confused, I forgot that part. Thanks!
