Why do some people who are dieting lose less weight than other dieters, even when their diet and exercise routines are virtually the same?
Metabolism. Think of it as a bunch of gears, which operate your stomach to get foodstuffs in and out of your system quicker. People with low metabolisms will have very slow moving gears (in more serious cases, perhaps they wouldn't be moving at all). People with high metabolisms, however, will process food, extract nutrients and reduce amount of fatty acids at a much faster rate. If two people weigh the same amount prior to dieting, begin exercising and dieting exactly the same, the person who has the best metabolism will weigh less (however, they won't drastically weigh less, it probably won't be more than a few pounds). This is also why you can have that one friend who inhales fast foods and high amounts of carbs daily, but they won't gain a pound. There's quite a few websites that can teach you how to raise your metabolic rate, which in return, will speed up weight loss.
