could someone please check my short reaction paper to an article reading?

OpenStudy (koikkara):

**accidentally...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could you clarify?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did I misspelled that word? Also is everything else on paper good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, first, commas come before quotation marks. Change that comma in: "Migration and the dynamics of empire", <--

OpenStudy (anonymous):

'Kurth puts' is better than 'Kurth put'. Add 's' to 'put'.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Again, "the age of European empire", <--- comma misplacement

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There needs to be a comma after 'However' in the last sentence of that paragraph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Accidentally is spelled wrong, as @Koikkara said.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

'America is unusual situation in term of achieving imperial status because it did not set out to for the goal being that America was given the status based on it being only superpower since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.' Reword this entire sentence.

'America has taken pride'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

'For instance, America has been the'

Do you speak in another tongue? Your sentence structure indicates that you are not familiar with English. It is perfectly fine if you are not familiar. I'm curious, and willing to help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. I will continue then. 'Lastly, in the early part of 21st century America has still maintain this imperial status by invading Iraq and occupying it to create client state, military subordinate to the US military, in Afghanistan.' Notice the comma I placed after the adverb.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the adverb US military?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. The adverb is 'Lastly". Lastly should have a comma after it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, ok

The idea of "American exceptionalism" has been an old belief from Americans in promoting democracy overseas. An example, seen in promoting the spread of democracy by former presidents, when they make international speeches, center around ideal "American exceptionalism". They proclaim America has "unique responsibilities" in the areas of human rights and rule of laws. As a result, America uses its democratic system and liberties as a model to exemplify its presence in countries lacking governmental stability and trying to help advocate for a democratic system and egalitarian liberty. I fixed this paragraph for you.

Thanks!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kruth's article was a thoughtful reading of migrational patterns of past empires, but what stood out to me was; America accidentally achieving imperial power status after all the other empires collapsed. America has taken pride in keeping the status of being an imperial power through countries intervention, when order is unstable and having the ideals of "American exceptionalism" which show that American standard goal is to be model leader of nation. This paragraph is also fixed. Hopefully, my corrections have made sense, to you. Have a good day, @ta123 .
