Are you asked to take a limit? if f(x)=7x+8 then f(x)'=7
If you plug in your value of "5" and take the derivative you get 0.
I don't fully understand your question.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
43 isnt one of the answer choices
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What are your choices?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
7?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I did the same thing first, I plugged then 5 in then solved it & got 43 but then it wasnt one of my choices.

Then asked for the derivative of f(x), I belvie the question is worded wrong.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but what does the x=5 has to do with it?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I don;t know, I didnt type the question.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
nothing! the derivative of f doesn't depend on x. that what it means
