Whenever we want to say that "(something) is (something),"

we need to start with SE,
and add on the (Él/Ella/Usted) form of the verb.

Just two easy steps, see?

For example:

SE HABLA español. -- Spanish IS SPOKEN.

(We start with SE, and then add the word HABLA, which is the (Él/Ella/Usted) form of HABLAR.)


SE DICE que.... -- It IS SAID that...

(We start with SE, and then add the word DICE, which is the (Él/Ella/Usted) form of DECIR.)
