it depends on the perception of object, if you ask a physicist he will give you a huge explanation of it , from property of lens to what kind of lens it is, if you ask someone who is unfamiliar with it then for him its just piece of lens , so basically it depends how you describe it because beauty lies in the eyes of beholder
