half of the students eat 1 brownie -- 64/2 = 32(eat 1 brownie)
1/4 keep for a snack -- 1/4 x 64 = 64/4 = 16 (keep snack)
1/8 eat at lunch -- 1/8 x 64 = 64/8 = 8 (save for lunch)
8 keep one for home

now add.....
32 + 16 + 8 + 8 = 64
