It is because of Britain's empire at the time of the Industrial Revolution is what allowed it to succeed moreso than any other. She held territories in India, Burma, Australia, Canada, South Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East (present day Iraq/Iran). Within each of these territories would lie the raw materials that would be used in the Industrial Revolution (iron, copper, zinc, oil, tungsten, etc.). So England's various geographic holdings allowed it to produce alot of different products.
