Factoring: 1. 14a - 7b 2. 3y2 - 4y 3. 10x3 + 8x2 - 6x

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Look at each term. Is there a number or a symbol which is present in both, or can be divided out of both? \[14a-7b\]No symbols in both terms, but aren't 14 and 7 both multiples of 7? What do you get after dividing both terms by 7? \(7(2a-b)\) \[3y^2-4y\]Here we have no matching numbers in both terms, but we have \(y\) in both. What do you get after dividing both terms by \(y\)? \(y(3y-4)\) Now you do the third one, which combines both things you saw in 1 and 2, and I'll check your result.
