I need to show my work so help please! Algebra 2 The start-up cost of a company is $150,000. It costs $.17 to manufacture each headset. Graph the function that represents the average cost of a headset. How many must be manufactured to result in a cost of less than $5 per headset?
This unit is Rational Functions, by the way. We've been doing stuff with variation and points of discontinuity and rational expressions.
@whpalmer4 ? Sorry I keep asking you, but you're really good.
I was able to make an equation 150,000+0.17h, but that's all.
I think you subtract 0.17 from each side
@keepitsimple Do you know how I can graph it?
h = number of headsets It costs 150000 + 0.17h to make them and you want that to be less than 5h, because 5h is how much money they would pay if they made h headsets at $5 each. So 150000 + 0.17h < 5h
Im not really sure on how to graph it
It's ok. Thanks for trying.
@whpalmer4 Do you know how to do this? I was thinking the cost varied inversely with 0.17h, but I'm not sure.
@amistre64 Can you help me?
@keepitsimple is right
@LilHefner3 I have to graph it. According to the answers in the textbook, it shows the graph being a curve like this, but I still need to write the equation. |dw:1361400561505:dw|
Never mind, no one knows how to do it. I just drew a random graph and hope that the teacher is only grading by credit.
