So if we let Bottles of Soda be X. Then we can form two equations.
2x=1/2
ax=3
If we solve the first equation we get 1/4 gallons of icecream to buckets of soda. Therefore if we seperate the 3 bottles of soda into 1/4, so how many quarters go into 3. We will know the number of bottles needed. In this case 12 bottles is the answer.
