Which number is between 0.5 and 8/9? This problem has been so fluttering irritating to me, honestly. It's so simple, and I've tried it so many times to solve it. I can't. Somebody please fluttering show me how to do this piece of pellet. (Sorry for language but I'm quite angry.)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u have the choices ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah. Option A: 7/24 Option B.: 1/7 Option C: 5/24 Option D: 2/7 But again, please show me EXACTLY how this is done. Like how to do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

convert all fractions to decimal form

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

i see why you are irritated by the problem. Is there a choice like NONE OF THE ABOVE?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, no there is not. -_-.

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

hmm. the given numbers are at least 0.5 in values, but none of the choices exceed 0.5

Directrix (directrix):

There are infintely many numbers between .5 and 8/9. If the question had been open-ended and asked for *any* number between .5 and 8/9, then the quickest way to get that number would be to average .5 and 8/9 by adding them and dividing the sum by 2. Here, you have to select from the given options which makes the problem less easy. Let me take a look at the options. @RainbowDashiez

Directrix (directrix):

@RainbowDashiez I know that you are frustrated but would you check the options you posted to be sure that they are the correct ones. Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah the choices were way wrong. But I think I figured out how to do it. Anyways, the correct choices. Option A: 7/24 Option B: 1/3 Option C: 22/24 Option D: 19/24

Directrix (directrix):

@sirm3d >> hmm. the given numbers are at least 0.5 in values, but none of the choices exceed 0.5 Excellent observation. The number line is cool, too.

Directrix (directrix):

@RainbowDashiez We'll help. Don't leave.

Directrix (directrix):

Anybody get >> Option D: 19/24

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

i agree with @Directrix on option D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I also did it just now. It is option D. I converted 8/9 into a decimal, which is 0.88. I then converted the answers into decimals. 0.29, 0.33, 0.91, and 0.79. The number between 0.50 and 0.88 is 0.79, which is 19/24. Option D is correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks anyway, everyone!

Directrix (directrix):

All's well that ends well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's about time... Sheesh. I've been working on that problem for like an hour.
