Use the diagram below to answer the following questions. https://media.glynlyon.com/g_pal_2012/6/img_transversalquestion.gif Given A || B. The value of x is ________. The measure of 1 is ________. The measure of 2 is ________. The measure of 3 is ________. The measure of 4 is ________. The measure of 5 is ________. The measure of 6 is ________. The measure of 7 is ________. The measure of 8 is ________. Angles 2 and 3 are ________ angles.
In doing this type problem, you do not have to get the angles in order. That is, you don't have to get the measure of angle 1, then angle 2, and so on. Compute the angles you can, regardless of angle number.
okay
A short time ago, I talked with you about angles 7 and 8.
3x + 19 = 5x - 39
Solving for x, x = 24. Substitute the x = 24 into 3x + 19 to get 3*24 + 19 = 91.
The 91 angle and <7 are supplementary. The measure of angle 7 = 180 - 91 = 89. The measure of angle 8 is also 89 because angles 7 and 8 are vertical. Vertical angles are congruent.
Hint: Use the same sort of thinking to get angles 1 and 3.
thank you
I hope that helps you to get started.
so would 1 and 2 be 170?
im still really confussed
