How do i do this step by step: Solve the system by the substitution method. x^2 + y^2 = 113 x + y = 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

second equation is the same as \(y=15-x\) so you can substitute in the first equation to get \[x^2+(15-x)^2=113\] and solve the resulting quadratic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you substitute the y with the 15-x right?
