i need help on polynomials classify each one by degree and number of terms 8a – 5 6x2 9x2yz

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Did you try? @haleymarie97

yeah I'm not good at it

To find the degree of a term, you have to add the exponents together. The degree of the whole polynomial is the highest degree of the individual terms. Example: the degree of 8x^2 + 4xyz is 3.... To find this, find the sum of the exponents in each term of the polynomial. The degree of 8x^2 is 2. The degree of 4xyz is 1+1+1=3 since each variable has an exponent of 1. 3 is bigger than 2, thus the degree of the polynomial is 3.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 8a-5 is it a monomail, binomial, trinomail
