what is the law of conservation of energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please can someone tells me what is law of conservation of energy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i need an example of an energy conversion , make sure to discuss which form of energy are involved ? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Energy can neither be created nor be destroyed, it can either be transferred or transformed from one form to another.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most famous example is an object falling from a height transforms its P.E into K.E \[mg \Delta h = \frac{1}{2}m v^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for a isolated system the total amount of energy (kinetic, potential, electric, thermal,...) is constant. Isolated system means that there is no energy change with an external source. As you can pick a specific system to be isolates, you can also assume that the whole unierse is an isolated system. This is a general rule you can see this in various equations, or physical system. For example: the equation E=mc^2 is a result of this principle. Similar expressions can be seen in thermodynamic, classical dynamic and other field of study of physics.

I wrote the word "unierse" wrong above, i wanted to write Universe. And one more thing; mass itself is a form of energy.
