Factor the following polynomial completely. -x2y2 + x4 + 9y2 - 9x2 (x- 3)(x- 3)(x+y)(x-y) (x+ 3)(x+ 3)(x+y)(x-y) (x+ 3)(x- 3)(x+y)(x-y) I don't understand this and the last 3 r the choices that I have

\[(x-3) (x+3) (x-y) (x+y) \]

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Rearrange the polynomial: x^4 - x^2y^2 - 9x^2 + 9y^2 Now factor out x^2 from first two terms and -9 from last two terms: x^2(x^2 - y^2) - 9(x^2 - y^2) Factor out common factor x^2 - y^2 (x^2 - 9)(x^2 - y^2) Factor both differences of squares above: (x + 3)(x - 3)(x + y)(x - y)
