Question

Can someone help me access the "free" online textbook. When I try to access the text, I am not permitted to by FlatWorld. I only get options to buy. I expected to have access to the free text. Thanks in advance.

Go to the first module, called "Structure of the Atom" and click on the left-hand side of the page on the link "1. Introduction to Solid State Chemistry." Begin reading the page, and if you scroll to the center of the page, it has a "Reading" section with a link to the first chapter.

Each lesson has a different link to a new reading. Hope that helps!

Here's a powerpoint summary of Chapter One from the textbook. You might also want to check out the companion website to the textbook: http://wps.aw.com/bc_averill_principles_1/47/12214/3126955.cw/index.html

There are a ton of math exercises for each chapter, as well. So if you can't access the textbook for free, you can use the detailed powerpoint, quizzes, etc from the textbook website. I've been having problems with the link to the free textbook, so this website has helped me a lot!
