Explain why there is no possibility of genetic variation during vegetative reproduction.

OpenStudy (blues):

All somatic body cells have the same genetic material. Different tissues express different subsets of genes, but all genes are taken from the same selection of DNA. When vegetative budding occurs, basically body cells are shed off from the individual and grow into new individuals. Think about what that necessarily implies for genetic variation among the offspring. :)
