What is the area of ABC below? If necessary, round your answer to two decimal places.
i got the area form each triangle sepreatly then added them up and got 128.77
That should be right. You have two sides, you can calculate the third.
i'll check your answer and see if it's right. Give me a second :)
thank you :)
37.13
@slopez95
you got that for the bigger one? because I got 21.81. hmm how did you get that?
i multiply 7.9 and 23.2 for the big one then divide by 2 same for the small one 9.4x7.9 then divide by 2
hmm that might be why. i used a^2+b^2=c^2 to get the base of both triangles first. to get the area you do bh/2. base is the bottom measurement.
well i have to find the area so i found he area of both then add them together i think thats how?
yes but you're finding the area the wrong way. first you have to find the base. without the base measurement you can't find area. once you do it that way, you can add them
poo so how can i find the base? can you help me plz :)
okayy. a triangle is sides a, b and c. now the slanted side is always c. For the smaller one the sides are b=7.9 and c=9.4. plug it into this and solve. a^2+b^2=c^2 let me know what you get.
so it would be 62.41 and 88.36 then subtract = 25.9 right?
yes! now find the square root since that is squared right now.
5.09?
exactly :) now do the same for the bigger triangle.
i got square root of 21.81?
26.9?
oh wait, no i'm sorry. now with each of the bases you do bh/2 to get the area. my bad. So it'll be 5.09*7.9 and 21.81*7.9
hahaha lol its cool =)
i got 40.211 and 172.299?
yes :) now add lol
212.51?
you got it :)
thank you ur awesome
No problem :) thanks.
