what pair of numbers does 47 fall between?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

46,48? did you mean something else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah the 47 was insize a checkmark. my options are 6&8 or 7&8 or 5&6 or 6&7 . im not sure what the question is asking,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

* inside.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean like this? \[\sqrt{47}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know how too make that symbol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a radical. It means square root, but you probably already knew that. Anyways, the way to solve one of these kinds of problems is to find two numbers whose squares are close to it and choose those two, if that makes sense. for this: \[6^{2} = 36\] and \[7^{2} = 49\] since 47 falls betwen 36 and 49, the answer is 6&7
