what is the present progressive tense for "Tu bebes un refresco"?
also what is the present progressive tense for "yo escribo" and "Nosotros bailamos"?
The verb here is "bebes." It means "you drink." First, we have to look at the INFINITIVE form of the verb. In this case, it would be BEBER. ~~~~~~~~~~~ First, let's talk about what the Present Progressive tense is. The PRESENT PROGRESSIVE is where we're trying to say what is BEING DONE, RIGHT NOW. Examples: "I am drinking." "You are talking." "She is driving." "He is eating." You get it? Present Progressive. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'll show you how to conjugate verbs into the Present Progressive Tense, step by step. 1. Take the INFINITIVE verb. In this case, it would be BEBER. 2. Take off the LAST TWO LETTERS of the verb. Now, we have BEB- 3 (Most Important Step) If the last two letters were ER or IR, add IENDO. If the last two letters were AR, add ANDO. In this case, we would at IENDO. So now, we get.... BEBIENDO. 4. Place the correct form of the verb ESTAR, before the present progressive verb. In other words, we have to conjugate ESTAR into the correct form, before we say "bibiendo." The sentence was "tu bebes." So, we have to use the TU form of estar, which would be "Estás." ~~~~~~~~~~ Now we're done! Our answer: "Estás bebiendo." See? Easy. The trickiest part is probably conjugation. But once you know how to do that, it's very easy.
You can use these steps to come up with the answers for the other two. Try it. I'll come back and check, if you post.
