OpenStudy (taepoohwae):

Can someone please simplify this expression with steps? Assume that all variables represent nonzero numbers. 6p^6 x 8p^8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem. just multiply your base numbers (6*8) and add the exponents (6+8)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that help at all

OpenStudy (taepoohwae):

Yes... Are you saying 48+14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not really. when you have two exponents being multiplied you can multiply the bases and add the exponents like so. ap^(c) x bp^(d) = (a*b)p^(c+d)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer would be \[48p ^{14}\]

OpenStudy (taepoohwae):

thanks!
