Which of the following is true of conifers? (2 points) Most coniferous trees have both male and female cones. Female cones produce pollen that fertilizes the egg. Female cones produce pollen that is trapped by the male cones’ scales. Male cones cannot produce pollen unless fertilized by the female cone.

@InYourHead can you help

I might. I'm researching coniferous reproduction right now.

ok thanks

Okay. Here are a couple of facts: MALE cones are called STROBILI. FEMALE cones are just called CONES. MALE CONES (strobili) produce POLLEN. FEMALE cones produce EGGS. Just from these facts alone, we know that the 2nd and 3rd choice are incorrect. ~~~~~~~~~ The FEMALE eggs, inside the FEMALE cones, are the ones that are fertilized by the MALE pollen. So, the 4th choice is incorrect also. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now we're only left with the first choice, which is, in fact, true. Coniferous trees do have both male and female cones.
