y=4x^2+8x-6 x=? or There are no x-intercepts

OpenStudy (ash2326):

For finding x intercepts, put y=0 \[0=4x^2+8x-6\] Could you solve this? you'll get two values of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay I know how to do this now?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Use the quadratic formula \[ax^2+bx+c=0\] \[x=\frac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\] Just plugin the values , you'd get two values of x
