I'm not sure I follow the question, but I'll take a stab. Generally, ATP has a phosphate group (PO3) removed to give off energy for reactions (making ADP). PO3 is highly reactive and would conceivably bond to any radical in the cell that is close by, thus lowering the amounts of ions (and radicals)... ??
