What is the difference between pulmonary edema and pulmonary effusion?

effusion means that an inflammatory fliudy exudate has collected in lungs.....or rather in pleura pulmonary edema ....there may not be effusion but still patient may have edema....engorgement of lung parenchyma.....due to various causes..... which may lead to effusion if rate of secretion exceeds reabsorption capacity of body
