They are indeed. The reason behind this is that we can prove triangles are similar in many ones, one of which is if all three angles correspond (ex, a 30 - 60 - 90 is to another, regardless of the legs and hypotenuse length.) A triangle's interior angles always add up to 180 degrees, and by simple algebra, we can find that 180 - (60 + 53) is 67. To double check, 180 - (60 + 67) is also 53.

Yes they are similar as to their angles. Because both triangles has the same value of angle. i attached a drawing.
