Help best answer gets medal... Phil, Steve, and Esther are aged 19 – 22, and none of them is the same age. Phil's age is an even number, and Steve and Esther have consecutive ages. Steve's age is an odd number, and he is older than Phil. Who is the oldest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill work on this, unless somee gets it first

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

is it 19 to 21 or 19 to 22 bcoz there are onl three persons so it might b 19-21

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

is the ages 19,20,21 or 19,20,21,22

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Steve is older than Phil ------------------------- it says "Steve and Esther have consecutive ages.", so this implies that Steve is one year younger than Esther...or...Esther is one year older than Steve

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it says "Steve's age is an odd number, and he is older than Phil. " so Steve is older than Phil

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so steve is 21?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

it's hard to say all they want is the oldest person

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if Steves age is an odd number, then he must be 21and Esther must be 22 the only even number left for Phil is 20 Esther is the oldest
