1. To which set of numbers does the number belong? –55 (1 point) natural numbers whole numbers integers irrational numbers

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

which answer did you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-55 is whole number and an integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is not a whol number

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

good, it's just an integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3. Insert <, >, or = to make the sentence true. – – (1 point) = > <

OpenStudy (anonymous):

- 1 -2 - - 3 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry it is a little weared

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Whole Numbers include natural numbers and integers.. a whole number is a number with no decimal point, thus -55 is a whole number.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

most textbooks will defined the set of whole numbers to be this set W = {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ... }

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

define*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u help me with the second one please

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

-1/3 ? -2/5 -1*5 ? 3*(-2) ... cross multiply -5 ? -6 since -5 is larger than -6, we must say -5 > -6 so the left side is larger than the right which means -1/3 > -2/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

INTEGER

4. Name the property of real numbers illustrated by the equation. 2 • (8 • 7) = (2 •8 ) • 7 (1 point) Distributive Property Associative Property of Multiplication Commutative Property of Multiplication Associative Property of Addition

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Distributive

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

no, it's not distributive if it was something like 2(8+7) = 2(8) + 2(7) then it would be distributive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry jim, you are wrong.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

unfortunately, it's you who are wrong but it's ok, no one is perfect and I definitely make a ton of mistakes myself the idea that 2 • (8 • 7) = (2 •8 ) • 7 is using the Associative Property of Multiplication

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry you were right! i miss read the problem. I apologize.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that's perfectly fine I do that all the time too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer to one directions problem is: associative!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hank you guys very much i have one more

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

more specifically Associative Property of Multiplication because there are 2 flavors of the Associative Property

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5. Use properties of real numbers to rewrite the expresion. 3/5 5/3 (1 point) 8/15 15/8 0 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i for got when it is 1/1 is it sopposed to be 1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if that is 3/5 times 5/3, then you are correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, that is right Jim.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you very much i got a 5/5 100% thank you

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

Integral number is the correct answer
