The substitution method requires you to solve an equation for x in terms of y or y in terms of x. Is there an equation that allows you to solve for x or y without too much work?

You must isolate the term you wish to solve for. Which of the two equations in your problem allows you to solve for y in terms of x with just one step?

@k.rajabhishek , it doesn't help him any just to give him the answer, he needs to know how to do the problem himself. I was trying to walk him through step by step.
